In 2008, Hamilton Community Foundation’s Board approved a new strategic plan: The planning process included Board, staff and input from a variety of stakeholders who provided their perspectives on the strengths and opportunities for Hamilton and for the Foundation. In addition to the new plan, this process included the development of a new mission and vision for HCF and the formalizing of the core value of inclusiveness. The five key goals approved for 2008-2013 are:
1. To increase our financial investment in the community.
2. To focus our leadership to strengthen the capacity of our community to address its issues and opportunities:
3. To manage knowledge for the advancement of HCF’s Mission and Vision.
4. To strengthen our organizational capacity to meet changing internal and external conditions.
5. To increase strategic awareness of HCF and the importance of philanthropy.
HCF has also formalized an annual strategic planning process that includes evaluation, reflection and continued collaboration with stakeholders on the evolution of our role. As our city’s needs and circumstances require changes in our course and direction, we will rely on our renewed vision, mission and corporate values to guide those adjustments.
