


A grant from HCF’s immediate response fund helped support Hamilton’s first Homeless Baseball League. Organizers say the league helps give the players opportunities to be part of a community, and something to look forward to every week. It also provides individuals who are currently homeless the chance to engage with those who are now housed and witness the positive changes that have happened.

The Centre for Voluntary Sector Research and Development (CVSRD), the Canadian Federation of Voluntary Sector Networks, and The Voluntary Gateway have collaborated on The Charities File website, which is designed to help charitable organizations file their annual Registered Charity Information Returns (the T3010A Package) to the Canada Revenue Agency, more accurately, and on time.
The Maytree Foundation is offering scholarships for protected persons and landed immigrants who were protected persons. Eligible students are aged 18 to 26, not living with parents, and attending university or community college in fall 2008. Application deadline is March 28, 2008.
NEW Resource for Community Organizations - The Organizational Effectiveness Toolkit provides practical tools to help community organizations plan, govern and manage their operations. It is based on real-life experience gained through reviews conducted by the Bay Area Arts and Heritage Stabilization Program supported by Hamilton Community Foundation.
