This is my first year as a member of the Youth Advisory Council.  It has been great!  YAC gives you so many opportunities and chances to get involved.  I encourage all to come and join to make your community a better place.

Hi! My name is Melisa. I joined YAC because I love being involved in my community and working with other young leaders. YAC is a lot of fun to be a part of, but along with fun you get to support other young people, who are also trying to be leaders. It's a great way to meet new people and be involved in many new opportunities. I really hope that as a member of YAC I will make a positive difference in my community.

Hi, I'm Miranda! I am so glad that I joined YAC, it has really been an awesome experience so far.  I've learned alot about Hamilton and the environment! I've also made many new friends and I got to volunteer at The Living Rock, and help to run an environmental conference! YAC is a lot of fun, and I really feel like i'm making a difference in my community by being a part of it.

My sister recruited me, and after one meeting at YAC, I was sold.  I get to see a lot of my friends from other schools I have attended.  I also enjoy visiting not-for-profit organizations.  For the record, YAC didn’t join Chuck Norris, Chuck Norris joined YAC.  Red and black go well for clothes combinations.  Youth in society helping youth in society are good people to be around in a good environment.

My name is Elliot, and I joined YAC to make a difference in our community. Since joining YAC I have had the chance to meet new people and get involved in youth run activities. By joining YAC I have the chance to make a positive contribution to our city. YAC has allowed me to get involved in programs that I would otherwise not have known about.

Hey there! I’m Nadia. I joined YAC so I could give back to my community and learn more about the city I live in and what I can do to help it grow. It’s a unique organization in which youth are able to make decisions to help other youth and people and learn things about their wonderful city they didn’t already know. It’s full of great times and enthusiastic people that quickly become your friends, and something I would recommend to anyone!

In an age of constant cell phone light, blind consumerism and media manipulation, it is indescribable to be a member of a group spreading environmental awareness and responsible steps to a better future.  Both an extremely rewarding and immensely enjoyable experience, YAC sheds new light on what youth are capable of. Through the many opportunities I've been given being a part of this council, I am now able to truly view Hamilton in a new light.

Hello my name is Brooke! To me, YAC is a great way to get involved in the community. It is giving me the opportunity to network with youth that have the same interest as I do - helping people. Ever since I started high school I have wanted to be more involved and make a difference. I want to help the people who need it most.  This group is a great way to help out the local community and I am so honoured to be a part of it this year!

I joined YAC after seeing firsthand the work and accomplishments that YAC is a part of. I am so proud to be involved in such a committed organization and work with like-minded individuals who want to create a positive change in the community! Working with YAC is an excellent opportunity to network with individuals who are determined, supportive and have all of the qualities I admire. In brief, I look forward to the upcoming initiatives the YAC will be a part of in helping to ensure environmental sustainability, and positively impacting the Hamilton community!
