To me, YAC is a great and fun way to meet new friends and people in the community. I have a great time every time I am here and always learn something new. If anyone is interested in joining YAC, I would definitely say come on down and give it a shot.

I joined YAC to get involved in the Hamilton community and help those who need it. I have been so happy to meet so many new, interesting people. Everyone is so nice and caring; i'm really glad to know them.  YAC has given me so many fun opportunities, friends, and the great feeling that i have helped out our city. I'm so glad i joined!

Since starting YAC in September I have learned a lot about Hamilton, myself, and others. I have made many new friends, and I have been able to help out Hamilton in an AWESOME way. It is great to be part of something that makes a great difference in our city.

The YAC program is a great thing for me.  It's a great way for me to get involved and have a say in my community.  It also allows me to build important leadership skills.

The journey of a thousand miles starts with one step… such is the idea of YAC, an inspiring and amazing group of young people.  Our goal is to give that initial push to youth who have great ideas for change, but are unsure of where to start.  We are there to support these incredible projects that would otherwise never take off – and just being on such a council is a privilege, and in fact, an honour.

My name is Tobias, and since joining YAC I have found it a great way to get involved in the Hamilton community and take part in supporting youth initiative projects. It has also been a great way to meet other involved, dedicated individuals who work as a team to make a difference. YAC has really helped me connect more with my community and given me experience in working with others to improve our city.

Hi! I'm Susan. I am so happy I joined YAC because I feel that I am making a difference in my area. YAC is giving me the opportunity to network with youth that share the same interest as I do - philanthropy. I feel more complete with being able to help my community with such amazing youth. With YAC, you begin new friendships and explore other areas that you were weren't so sure about. I am truly honored to be on YAC this year!

In an age of constant cell phone light, blind consumerism and media manipulation, it is indescribable to be a member of a group spreading environmental awareness and responsible steps to a better future.  Both an extremely rewarding and immensely enjoyable experience, YAC sheds new light on what youth are capable of. Through the many opportunities I've been given being a part of this council, I am now able to truly view Hamilton in a new light. 

Hey, my name is Chelsea and this is my first year doing YAC. I’m so happy that I decided to join because it has really helped me gain an insight on what is happening around Hamilton and different ways to help around the community. I feel YAC will help me gain more confidence and become a well rounded person by the end of the year because everyone is so supportive. All of the people at YAC are hard workers and we all became friends so fast. I am thrilled to be working with such a great group of people. 

Hi, I'm Miranda! I am so glad that I joined YAC, it has really been an awesome experience so far.  I've learned alot about Hamilton and the environment! I've also made many new friends and I got to volunteer at The Living Rock, and help to run an environmental conference! YAC is a lot of fun, and I really feel like i'm making a difference in my community by being a part of it.

My sister recruited me, and after one meeting at YAC, I was sold.  I get to see a lot of my friends from other schools I have attended.  I also enjoy visiting not-for-profit organizations.  For the record, YAC didn’t join Chuck Norris, Chuck Norris joined YAC.  Red and black go well for clothes combinations.  Youth in society helping youth in society are good people to be around in a good environment.

I joined YAC so that I could be more involved in the great city I live in. I love that we get to give back to Hamilton and really help out those who need it. I can't wait to be a part of all of the upcoming projects lead by YAC and become more involved in the community. I'm so glad I joined YAC and got to meet all of the amazing youth on the board!

Hi, my name is Allan and I joined YAC as a way to give back to the community. I think this is great way to make a positive change in Hamilton. I would strongly recommend for anyone to join as it is a great opportunity and is so much fun. See you at thr next meeting!

This is my first year as a member of the Youth Advisory Council.  It has been great!  YAC gives you so many opportunities and chances to get involved.  I encourage all to come and join to make your community a better place.

I found out about YAC through a friend and thought it sounded like a great way to get involved in my community. Since I've joined, I've learned a lot about myself and what goes on in my city. I love spending time with my fellow YAC-ers who are all so enthusiastic about making Hamilton as great a place as it can be!

This is my second year in YAC.  YAC has been a great experience and has given me lots of practice in the boardroom

I joined YAC to meet other people that like what I like and want to be involved in the community like me.  Oh yeah!  Chuck Norris and Mr. T are in YAC so join quick, Chuck will be waiting.

I’m glad I joined YAC.  It’s opened my eyes to opportunities in Hamilton that I wouldn’t have known about otherwise.
